Bhorer Allo is a Bengali language romantic comedy suspense film released in India on 22 April 2011. The film is written and directed by Prabhat Roy. It revolves around four central characters, played by popular actors Rituparna Sengupta and Priyanshu Chatterjee, TV serial actor and anchor Rohit Roy, and debutante actress Anusmriti Sarkar.

Synopsis

The story revolves around four protagonists: Arunabha Mitra, a wealthy middle-aged man, his daughter Rinka, two sisters — Sreemati and Payel, and the playboy Subhankar Bose. The film is about crisis in identity, love, betrayal and the strange twists of fate. It is also about how we fail to trust the people we love and how quick we are to jump to conclusions. The conflict in the story arises when one of the protagonists impulsively acts on intense concern for her sister and commits a crime that would forever change the course of everybody’s life.

The movie is about a short yet qualified middle aged man named Mithilesh played by Rajpal Yadav and his insecurities about his height and personality when he gets married to Veena played by Rituparna Sengupta. As his married life progresses with his loving and devoted wife, his insecurities grow. He becomes jealous about his friend Saleem, played by Varun Badola, Veena's childhood friend Akash, played by Kay Kay Menon and others who he claims have an infatuation with his wife. Slowly, he suspects a change in his wife's behavior and starts believing she wants to divorce him. Being a loving husband he confesses his fear to Veena and frees her from all wifely duties. But the hidden truth, revealed at the very end, ultimately brings the couple closer.

The film begins with the scenic beauty of the Himalayas, and in the backdrop Anuradha (Rituparna Sengupta) was reading out letters to her never-to-be-born child. Then, a sudden telephone ring breaks the silence of an early December morning. Anuradha received the call and is stupefied upon hearing the voice from the other side of the telephone, which stated that her husband, Somnath (Rohit Roy) had been the victim of a deadly accident in Thailand and was currently in coma stage.
