After the death of Father Gerald David becomes alone in the world. Sunny (Anoop Menon) who is a planter and a failed businessman discovers one of David's creativity, and reaps a fortune with that. Pakal Nakshatrangal tells the story of Siddharthan (Mohanlal), narrated by Siddharthan's son Adi (Anoop Menon) to his wife (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy)as the content of his new book. Siddharthan is a brilliant film maker but leads a Casanova lifestyle entwined with women, alcohol and drugs. His house 'Daffodils' is his salvation and the epicentre for art with his big bunch of friends. One day Siddarthan is found dead at Daffodils. His untimely death is considered suspicious but eludes the police due to lack of evidence. Adi decides to dig into his father's past and solve the mystery surrounding his death. Adi converse with Siddharthan's friends, read his diary and articles, and get help from a psychic Dr. Vaidyanathan (Suresh Gopi). The story evolves around what Adi finds out about his father's life and whether and how he finds out the truth about the mysterious death.

Aham is the story of Sidharthan (Mohanlal), who grew up in a disciplined and strict environment and tried to lead his family life in similar lines. But his wife (Urvasi) was not able to adjust with his crazy lifestyle. She wanted to become self-dependent but this created suspicion in Siddharthan's mind. In a resulting argument and physical struggle, She got pushed from the balcony and goes into a coma. This makes Siddharthan lose his mental balance. Later he ends up in a mental asylum and leads a spiritual life there. At the end Siddharthan commits suicide.

The widowed Chief Minister Jagdish Acharya lives an opulent lifestyle along with his daughter, Sunita and son, Sanjay. One day he gets a phone call from the Police Commissioner informing him that a woman has filed a F.I.R. (First Information Report) of rape against Sanjay. A shocked Jagdish instructs the Police Commissioner to proceed according to law. Soon after, while touring, Jagdish has a heart attack and dies. Sunita is asked to be the new Chief Minister and accepts.
