Synopsis
The storyline of the film revolves around the lives of two women (mothers) — coming from two different social background. The first mother is a Western woman, lives in France after tragic death of her son. The other woman comes from a patriarchal society. She lives with her father Ismail. Pour avoir voulu défendre une jeune fille (Victoria Abril) accusée de vol, un comédien (Richard Berry) se retrouve en prison. Embarqué malgré lui dans une tentative d'évasion, il est condamné par un tribunal particulièrement incompétent qui suit sans réfléchir les plaidoiries d'un avocat général débordant de zèle ! Une fois incarcéré, le pauvre comédien doit compter avec les harcèlements de l'un des gardiens (Richard Bohringer), une espèce de dangereux sociopathe frustré de la vie.

Parts of a corpse have been found and a suspect, Plamen Goranov (Krassimir Dokov), brother of the murdered man, is detained. He denies any charges and for want of conclusive evidence, the investigation is about to be suspended. Then a new investigator is appointed, Alexandra Yakimova (Svetla Yancheva), who starts everything from scratch. Solitude has been her own choice and she tries to make up it overburdening herself with more and more work. Loneliness is also eating up Plamen, the tough rogue, who starts cherishing his encounters with the investigator for the chance to talk to her. The film follows the course of the investigation through the filter of its main subject: possible or impossible human communication.
