Pillai. It is based on the real-life events of a small village in Kasargode, Kerala, India. The film was shot over one year in Kerala and Canada.
Synopsis
The film is a partially fictionalized representation of the environmental disaster caused by the misuse of endosulfan pesticide in Kasaragod District of Kerala in India. This disaster was caused by nearly two and a half decades of endosulfan use on government-owned cashew plantations. The film explores the disastrous environmental and public health consequences of the pesticide misuse. It also concentrates on those health-related effects of endosulfan misuse, that persist to this day.Acteurs

The story revolves around a widowed father and son working as scavengers and the harsh life they face. The duo belongs to a section of society who are marginalized in the mainstream. A 60-year-old man lives on a pristine, isolated island. He visits the nearby harbour in a motor boat once a month to sell handicrafts.
