The film features Ashok Selvan and Janani Iyer in the leading roles, while Nivas Prasanna composes the film's music. The film released on February 28, 2014, and opened to generally positive reviews from critics. A Telugu dubbed version Bhadram was thereafter released on March 21, 2014.
Synopsis
Vetri (Ashok Selvan) is a newly graduated criminology student who has an immense passion in becoming a detective. He has a very good observing capacity, which makes his professor believe that he will become a good detective someday. He gets a job from a detective company and is assigned with the task of shadowing and surveillance. He stays with his best friend Nambi and collects all the details about his targets. His next target is Madhu (Janani Iyer), a beautiful girl, for whom Vetri falls at first sight. Vetri's completed targets are killed one by one and Vetri understands that someone has used him to collect details about the victims, and the next one on the list is Madhu. He teams up with Inspector Raghuram and continue his enquiry with his help. On thorough investigation, Vetri finds that Sailesh and Sadagopan, who are a part of an insurance company, plot to take insurance policies, for the people who are single. The first two installments are paid by these schemers. By the third installment, the policy holders die in an accident . The policies are then claimed by another unknown person having fake relationship with the policy holder. The third person is then found to be Vallabha.Vetri, along with a police officer traces out the claimant of a policy who turns out to be none other than the professor who motivated Vetri to become a detective. Vetri then finds out the plot of his professor and his idea of linking him up with the detective agency. After narrating the story, the professor puts a bullet into his head. It is then shown that Vetri lives happily with friends and family taking care of the professor's old mother. Things seem fishy, when a newspaper contains a visiting card of Vallabha asking him to 'PICK THE CALL'.Vetri realises that even though his professor was involved in the insurance scam, he isn't Vallabha and that the actual Vallabha was still at large. The story ends with Vetri picking up a call.Acteurs

Jeeva (Karthi) is a typical Chennai youngster. His father Pragasam (Jayaprakash), a call taxi driver, shows love and affection on him. They lead a simple life and derive happiness in whatever they do. One day, Jeeva comes across Priya (Kajal Aggarwal) at the wedding of their mutual friend. The two fall for each other. J.K. (Cheran), a brooding CB-CID officer, is worried about his missing sister. His senior officer promises him that he can take up his sister's case after he solves another important one, so J.K. agrees. Amputated male arms are packed in cartons and left in public places, possibly as a message to the police. The missing people are identified as Raja Manikam, Moorthy etc., based on identification from their families. By triangulating the coordinates they find a lead in this case. Durai Pandi (Manicka Vinayagam) is a leading textile shop owner who was beaten, insulted in public and handed over to the police after it was found that he had used a peephole to look into the women’s dressing room. He is caught by the victim Suja's family, who are totally shattered by this incident. The inspector in-charge of this case is Isakki Muthu. Later, Durai Pandi's manager accepts the blame for the crime, clearing Durai Pandi's name. Later, Suja's father Dr. Purushothaman (Y. Gee. Mahendra) is arrested on charges of bribery, and then released. A sex affair complaint is lodged against Dr. Purushothaman’s wife (Lakshmy Ramakrishnan) by John Britto. These events shatter the family, and they commit suicide by setting themselves on fire. But Suja is still missing, so J.K. decides to reopen the case.

Centuries ago, Sri Raja Keerthi Ravi Varma promises to build a huge temple for a swayambhu idol of Kartikeya if the latter saves his kingdom from drought. It regains normalcy after unexpected rains and Varma constructs a huge temple under the supervision of Vishvakarma. On the night of every Karthika Pournami, huge white light is emitted the temple since its origin and people believed it as Kartikeya's presence and blessings. Since then, Kartikeya was worshiped there on a grand scale till 2012. However the temple was closed due to few circumstances in 2013 and whoever tried to reopen it or know about it died mostly because of a snake bite or an accident making the temple a haunted place.
