The film begins with Varun (Jiiva) gaining admission into an engineering college, with his best friend Prakash (Santhanam). He and his friends one day participate in a cultural programme, where Varun finds his childhood sweetheart Nithya (Samantha) participating in a dance show. He begins wooing her by singing on stage and later meets up with her and begins to reminisce their childhood. The film rewinds to their early days when both were aged eight, and shows the pair becoming friends after Varun had helped Nithya retrieve a book which had fallen while she had been playing. However after a minor understanding featuring Nithya's brother, she decides not to meet Varun and makes a vow to never talk with him. However, the pair then meet again in their tenth standard, aged 15. Nithya initially hesitates to talk with Varun, but sheds her inhibitions once Varun breaks the ice between them, and resumes her friendship with him. Nithya is elected as the pupil leader in school and as a pupil leader she is in constant interaction with Deepak, another pupil leader and her classmate, much to the dismay of Varun. As a result, they have another fallout.

This film is about a gang of innocent but feisty kids who lead carefree lives in Chandan Nagar colony that takes on the big bad world of politics when one of their friend's life is endangered. It starts with an introduction to the lead actors, who live in Chandan Nagar Society. Each of the eight children has his own identity and a nickname based on these qualities. Akram is the fast bowler (Ramashankar), Encyclopedia is the mastermind (Arjun). Not only that, but their whole team has a nickname – CHILLAR PARTY. They explain that they have mainly two enemies with the 'over-sized' neighbouring cricket team to whom they always lose, and a dog to whom they have given a name – Loose Motion, since it has a tendency to make messes. So they develop an enmity against dogs. Their hopes are shattered shortly after a boy- Fatka who was employed for washing the cars of the society, enters with his dog Bhidu. They do everything to throw the boy and his dog out, but become unsuccessful. Eventually they develop a friendship with each other as Fatka helps them by serving as the lead bowler during the match with the neighbouring cricket team. But their happiness is short-lived when a reckless politician, welfare minister Shashikant Bhide, enters their life after his personal secretary is attacked by Bhidu for hurting Fatka.

During the political realm of N. T. L’histoire commence par une proposition tordue : Ranbeer, un riche homme d’affaire (Saif Ali Khan), percute une voiture et en tue les occupants, parents de quatre enfants. Le juge, plutôt que de le mettre en prison, le condamne à s’occuper des orphelins jusqu’à leur majorité (mais comment peut-on imaginer une chose pareille !!!). Ranbeer est du genre solitaire, réfractaire à tout sentiment, ce qui ne l’empêche pas de culpabiliser à fond. Les bambins sont désespérés de devoir vivre avec l’assassin de leurs parents et débarquent dans sa vie et sa luxueuse maison avec la ferme intention de les venger. On les comprend.Heureusement, Dieu (Rishi Kapoor, excellent), entend les prières effarées de Ranbeer et des enfants, il leur envoie un ange gardien, Geeta (Rani Mukherjee).
