Richard Lynch (born 1965 ) is a Southern Welsh television and film actor best known for playing the character of Garry Monk
in S4C's long-running Welsh-language soap Pobol y Cwm.
Lynch is an alumnus of Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen, a Welsh Medium comprehensive school near Pontypridd.
Lynch first came to prominence in the 1986 Karl Francis film Milwr Bychan playing young soldier Will Thomas. Further film appearances include Branwen (1994), Darklands (1996), The Proposition (1997), and Y Mabinogi (2003). Lynch starred n numerous television productions and series, including The Christmas Stallion (1992), The Lifeboat (1994), and Tales from Pleasure Beach (2001).

Darklands follows journalist Frazer Truick as he investigates the mysterious death of the brother of trainee journalist Rachel Morris. Dai Davies is a Welshman running a cash-strapped farm in modern Wales and raising his orphaned granddaughter Gwen with the help of her godmother Nerys. When he dies unexpectedly, he leaves Gwen's guardianship to his estranged son Alan who returned to Wales accompanied by his stepson Cliff Dean. His return pits him against land developer Howard, and Cliff against Gwen's would-be suitor Gwilyn. As Alan and Gwen try to connect in the background of readying the farm's prize stallion Mabon for a race that could save the farm, Councilor Howard resorts to dirty tricks to try and force through the farm's sale.
