Charlie, meanwhile, has had affairs with a number of women but has never settled down with anyone; working as an events coordinator at a resort hotel, Charlie becomes infatuated with Alex Lamont (Sarah Strange), the singer in a dance band Charlie has booked into the ballroom. Lily urges her son to get married and raise a family, but Charlie isn't so sure he's ready for a lifetime commitment, and Alex becomes frustrated by Charlie's inability to take their relationship seriously. Meanwhile, Ede and Frederick have decided that Lily needs to be permanently committed to an institution; Charlie insists that they send her to a comfortable private facility, but then discovers that a mysterious benefactor has been supporting Lily for years, and Ede and Frederick have decided if Lily is to be in a private institution, then the generous stranger must be the one who pays for it. Surprisingly, The Piano Man's Daughter was co-produced by noted comic actress Whoopi Goldberg.

Alors qu'il poursuit un criminel, un policier fait une découverte effroyable dans un tunnel désaffecté du métro : un énorme insecte de trois mètres de long à l'apparence de scorpion. Au moyen de son énorme queue, l'abominable créature le détecte et le dévore. L'agent du FBI Matt Pollack est chargé de mener l'enquête. Quand les experts légistes dévoilent la source du problème, il demande de l'aide à son amie entomologiste Emily Foster et les résultats de ses analystes sont terrifiants. Matt et un commando d'élite partent explorer les galeries du métro pour exterminer ces prédateurs mais sont alors attaqués par une horde d'insectes géants et leur puissante riposte provoque l'effondrement de l'entrée du tunnel. A newly released prisoner, Peter Glahn, returns home to the land of Mandragora, where the sun never sets. Based on the true story of the Detroit Red Wings' Ted Lindsay, a nine-time NHL All-Star who, along with Doug Harvey of the Montreal Canadiens, headed up a small group of players in a battle to protect the rights of players against monopolistic NHL owners of the 1950s era, including Bruce Norris of the Red Wings, Conn Smythe of the Toronto Maple Leafs and James D. Norris of the Chicago Black Hawks as well as NHL president, Clarence Campbell. The film focuses on the conflict between Lindsay and Jack Adams, Detroit's general manager, as well as Lindsay's struggle to win over the trust and support of the players, including Lindsay's long-time team mate, the legendary Gordie Howe, amidst coercion and threats from the league and the owners. Lindsay's efforts would ultimately result in the formation of the NHL Players Association.
