Kongara Jaggaiah (Telugu: కొంగర జగ్గయ్య) (31 December 1926 – 5 August 2004) was an Indian film actor known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema and theatre. He was popularly known as Kanchu Kantam Jaggaiah (Telugu) for his booming voice, He was starred in eighty films, doing versatile characters in lead and supporting roles.

In 1962, He produced Padandi Munduku, the first Telugu film to be screened in Soviet Russia at the Moscow International Film Festival.
In 1992, the Government of India has honoured him with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions towards Indian cinema.

Kali (Gopichand) lives along with his mother on the business of hiring mike set and lighting equipment for wedding and other ceremonies. Jyothi (Meera Jasmine) is a singer who sings chorus in films. A lady police inspector (Ankitha) keeps on following Kali and tries to seduce him to make him fall in her love. Kali is also a threat for many in his area as he answers only with muscle power if things work against him. Knowing this, once Jyothi claims that she is Kali’s person to save herself from a group of eve teasers. Eve teasers leave her for the fear of Kali. In a dramatic sequence, like in any other film Kali happens to encounter Jyothi. Gopichand inclines for Jyothi and proposes her. But she negates and tells her flash back.

Inspector Ramaraju (Nandamuri Balakrishna) is a sincere police officer or who people call a Rowdy Inspector which is his titular role. Auto Rani (Vijayashanti) is an auto driver who falls in love with Ramaraju and helps him out with his missions. He arrests every goon that he sees. Bobarlanka Ramabrahmam (Mohan Raj) is an underworld don who rules areas filled with rowdies. Home Minister Karanam Kaasiah (Kota Srinivasa Rao) and the S.P. (Captain Raju) are his supporters. Ramabrahmam tries to show Ramaraju who's boss for messing with his gang of goons. Ramaraju fights him back as one day Ramabrahmam sends Koti (Srihari) and his goons and stab Ramaraju's grandmother (Nirmalamma) as Ramaraju beats them up and luckily saves her with the help his younger brother Gandhi (Harish)'s college lecturer (Arun Kumar).

Venkataramaiah (Gummadi) respectable person in the society, who runs a timber business. He has a happy joint family with his wife Padmavathi (Jayanthi) and 3 sons & 2 daughters. Anand (Nandamuri Balakrishna) the younger son of Venkataramaiah is a very happy-go-lucky boy. He does not take up any responsibility neither does he earn anything. But he simply wastes his father's money. Accidentally he meets Kavita (Vijayashanti) who works as a dance teacher in a school. They both are very opposite to each other. They always fight with each other. But on a certain occasion Anand falls in love with Kavita but she thinks that he is just trying to fool her. Sivaram (Satyanarayana) opponent businessman to Venkataramaiah, who once worked as a worker under Venkataramaiah, always had quarrels with Venkataramaiah and Anand. After sometime Kavitha understands Anand's love, but his family members did not agree for their marriage, so Anand leaves the house and marries Kavitha. Meanwhile Sivaram throws Venkataramaiah into heavy debts, so entire property comes to the occasion. Remaining children leaves Venkataramaiah alone which leads to his heart attack and his wife's death. Finally, Anand comes to their rescue and who he keeps up his parents prestige and honor, forms the rest of the story.

Madhu (Chiranjeevi) is a painter who becomes a drunkard since his wife is killed immediately after their marriage in an accident. He leads a careless life until a kid (Baby Sujitha) who is deaf and vocally challenged (dumb), enters his life. He names him Raja and takes care of him however, he doesn't stop drinking. Raja's parents are murdered by Venu (Raghuvaran) and his assistant and Raja is the witness to murder who is tried to be getting rid of by them. Geeta (Vijayashanti) meets the kid in a shopping place and mistakes him to be Madhu's son and fights with them when the kid accidentally breaks her just bought gift and later realises her mistake and comes to apologise to Madhu's house. She befriends the kid and gradually falls for Madhu. Later she comes to know that the kid is none other than her sister's (Rajyalakshmi) son and she was murdered. Madhu is accused of murder and kidnap, and is arrested by Inspector (Prabhakar). But they realise that he is not the actual killer and is released. However Venu and his assistant keep trying to kill the kid and they are almost successful when Madhu is out drunk one night but saves him in the last minute. This changes him and he gives up drinking. The rest of the story is how the villains are slain and Madhu and Geetha marry and adopt the kid.
