Jose Prakash (14 April 1925 – 24 March 2012) was an Indian actor and singer who worked in Malayalam cinema. He was a singer turned actor who had appeared in more than 300 films mostly in antagonist roles. He was awarded with the J. C. Daniel Award for 2011 a day before he died aged 87.
He dominated the Malayalam film industry in the role of villain for around 40 years. Later, he switched to character roles in mid 90s.
Script writers Bobby-Sanjay and Malayalam movie director Dennis Joseph are his nephews.

Biographie
He was the eldest of 8 children of Kunnel K.J.Joseph & Eliyamma Joseph on April 14,1925 at Changanassery, Kottayam. He has a younger brother Prem Prakash who is also an actor. He had his primary education from Sacred Heart Public School, Kottayam. He was settled around 30 years in Madras and later moved to Cochin. In 2003 his right leg had to be amputated due to Diabetes. He has 6 children, 4 sons and 2 daughters. He lived with his eldest son in Cochin till his death on 24 March 2012.His grandchildren are Jose Rajan,Tresa Rajan,Priya Shaji and Sachin Shaji.Script writers Bobby-Sanjay and Malayalam movie director Dennis Joseph are his nephews.

Omanakkuttan (Dileep) is twenty-two years old and too lazy to hold down a job, which angers his father (Thilakan). The story revolves around Johnny (Murali) and Annie (Madhavi), a married couple who had both grown up together in an orphanage, fallen in love and had got married. The couple have four children; the eldest being a teenage girl named Meenu, twin boys Rony and Tony, and the youngest Monu, a toddler. Rony and Tony are about 8 years old and are very close to each other. Rony is physically handicapped. Johnny is a jeep driver by profession and Annie a violin teacher. Though the family struggles to live and make ends meet, they lead a happy life together, except for the moments when Johnny, a recurrent alcoholic spends most of his daily earnings at the local toddy shop. During an altercation between Johnny and the local milk delivery man Keshavan (N F Varghese), the latter is humiliated in front of his family. Keshavan therefore decides to take revenge on Johnny.

Nanda (Revathi) is in love with a successful architect Narendaran (Mohan Lal), both of whom are living in Bangalore. They get engaged and are all set to marry when tragedy strikes. While they are talking on top of a construction building, Narendran accidentally slips and falls down, dying instantly. Depressed Nanda escorts Narendran's corpse to his homeland in Kerala. To her surprise she sees Narendran's twin brother Krishnan Unni (Mohan Lal), who looks exactly like Narendran. She thinks Narendran is not dead and everyone is trying to fool her. Narendran's parents want Nanda to marry Unni but he is already in love with Bhadra (Shobana). Bhadra tries to commit suicide and this shakes Nanda, Bhadra's dear friend, and Unni. Not wanting to be a burden on anyone and truly missing Narendran, Nanda commits suicide. Narendran's ghost, moments before Nanda's suicide, tells Unni that he is going to take Nanda with him to heaven since he really needs her, even in death. Unni is unsure if he just had an illusion, but to the viewers, it shown that Narendran's ghost was present and actually talking to Unni.
