Irruppam Veedu Sasidaran, dit I. V. Sasi, né le 28 mars 1948 à Calicut (État de Madras en Inde) et mort le 24 octobre 2017 à Saligramam (un quartier de Chennai au Tamil Nadu), est un réalisateur indien.

Il a réalisé plus de 150 films dans diverses langues du sous-continent indien. Il est bien connu pour son travail dans le cinéma malayalam des années 1970 à 1990, bien qu'il ait également réalisé quelques films tamouls et hindi (Bollywood). En 2015, il a reçu le prix J. C. Daniel , la plus haute distinction du cinéma malayalam (Mollywood).

Nadodikattu opens by introducing the two protagonists, Ramdas/Dasan (Mohanlal) and Vijayan (Sreenivasan), who are employed as ill-paid peons. A commerce graduate, and proud of that, Dasan frequently vents his frustration in having to serve lesser qualified superiors and having to settle with lesser than what he feels he deserves in life. Vijayan is his less educated roommate and sole friend. Their relationship is one full of tension, with Dasan adopting a superior stance on the account of his education and good looks, which fiercely rattles Vijayan. Several comic situations later in the film borrow from this aspect of their characters. Dasan frequently bosses over Vijayan to do all the household chores.

Jiya, daughter of James and Lisa and grand daughter of Mrs. Koshi, who enjoyed her teenage like a 'white feather' (Vellathooval). She is very conservative and have her own views. Manu gets fed up with his life. After his father's death, his mother marries Vijayaraghavan. He is always drunk and tortures Manu and his mom. So Manu fights with him and leaves home. He thinks he could become a murderer if he stays at home. Meantime Jiya also leaves her home. She goes with Manu. Manu advices jiya to go back to home many times, but she didn't agree with him. Simultaneously Jiya and Manu were becoming very good friends but the society misunderstood them and considered them lovers. Her uncle the City Police Commissioner Abi (K B Ganesh kumar) and his teams search every corners for them. At last Jiya injures a young college mate Willy in the stomach. He dies in the hospital. Willy's friends and police follow Jiya and Manu.

The movie is set into motion when a large cache of arms is discovered in the land belonging to the local businessman Hussein Sahib (Rizabawa). On investigation, Inspector Varma (Mukesh) finds that Hussein Sahib has no idea about this, but the land was used by someone called Anali Bhaskaran. The Inspector, along with his colleagues Sudhakaran (Jagadeesh) go to arrest Bhaskaran, but they are given a good fight. As the police are being beaten, the screen alternates between a police jeep appearing on the scene and Anali Bhaskaran trying to knife people. Suddenly a hand appears in the scene and beats Bhaskaran.

Sunny Palomattam (Mohanlal) is an established businessman in Singapore. He enjoys a flamboyant life with girlfriend Sandra Valookaran (Meena). His business rival, Mohammad Ali, was a partner who left after he was found embezzling company funds. Sunny discloses his past to Sandra: his family was a happy one, until Pappan (Rajan P. Dev) framed Sunny's father Ittichan (Madhu) in a fraud case. Shortly after, Ittichan died of a heart attack, and Sunny's engagement with fiancée Nancy (Divya Unni) is called off. Neelakantan (Mohanlal) is the heir to the well-known Mangalassery family. He squanders away his father's largess and good name, but is loved by the people who know him well.
