The film is a fictional account of a flight attendant who finds herself responsible for an unaccompanied minor on the morning of the September 11 attacks. It has won three film awards. It had its U. S. television premiere on the USA Network on Sunday, 11 September 2011, the tenth anniversary of the attacks.
Synopsis
Montine McLeod (Melissa Leo) is a flight attendant who gets stuck with Omar Hassan (Anthony Keyvan) after their flight gets grounded in Longview, Texas, the morning of 11 September 2001. Omar is an unaccompanied minor; in the chaos that ensues, Montine becomes his temporary guardian. Montine later discovers that Omar's father works in the World Trade Center. She decides to drive the boy home after he informs her his father is at home waiting for him in New York. On the journey, they begin to bond and learn more about each other. Montine makes a stop on the way to New York as she receives a call that her mother is dying. Upon arriving at her mother's house, she finds her mother already dead. After dealing with her mother's death, she continues on the road to take Omar home. When they get there, they learn Omar's father has not been home in the two days since the destruction of the Twin Towers. Later that night, Montine receives a call from her employer and is forced to bring Omar with her. At the ensuing meeting, Montine is terminated; Omar is taken from her and given to his school head master for the night before leaving for a new school the following day (the reason he was on the original flight). The day Omar is set to leave for Los Angeles, he locks himself in the bathroom and refuses to come out. Montine is asked to come; she coaxes Omar out of the bathroom and she walks him to his flight to Los Angeles.Acteurs

Après une nuit à faire la fête avec une hôtesse, le pilote de ligne Whip Whitaker prend les commandes de son appareil, pour un vol à destination d'Atlanta. Il passe une partie du trajet à dormir, et est réveillé peu de temps avant l'atterrissage. C'est alors qu'un incident survient : les gouvernes de l'avion se bloquent. Au prix d'une manoeuvre risquée, Whitaker parvient à se poser en catastrophe. Lorsqu'il se réveille à l'hôpital, on lui apprend qu'il a sauvé des dizaines de vies. Cependant, très vite, l'enquête sur l'accident révèle que Whitaker était sous l'emprise de l'alcool. Il risque une condamnation pour usage de drogue et homicide.

À New York le jeune Oskar Schell rentre chez lui, selon la consigne de son école. Tandis qu'il écoute les messages sur le répondeur téléphonique, il regarde la télévision qui retransmet en direct les attentats du 11 septembre 2001 où son père disparaît dans l'effondrement des tours du World Trade Center. Après s'être renfermé sur lui-même, il retrouve la dernière consigne que celui-ci lui avait laissée : « n'abandonne pas ». L'enfant se lance alors dans la résolution d'une énigme, comme son père Thomas Schell lui avait appris à le faire : que peut bien ouvrir la clé qu'il vient de trouver dans un vase que son père avait caché ? Qui est l'homme d'origine afro-américain dont le nom apparaît sur l'enveloppe contenant la clé ? Persuadé qu'il trouvera un dernier message du disparu, Oskar rencontre des membres de la communauté afro-américaine de New York, aidé par un vieux locataire de sa grand-mère, qui ne parle pas et ne communique que par des petits mots écrits sur un calepin.

The miniseries presented a dramatization of the sequence of events leading to the September 11, 2001 attacks by Al Qaeda on the United States, starting from the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and up to the minutes after the collapse of the World Trade Center in 2001. The point of view of the movie is from two primary protagonists: John P. O'Neill, and a composite Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agent, "Kirk". O'Neill was the real-life Special Agent in charge of Al Qaeda investigations at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He died in the collapse of the Twin Towers on September 11 shortly after retiring from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and taking the position of Director of Security for the World Trade Center. The composite CIA agent "Kirk" is shown dealing with various American allies, especially Northern Alliance leader Ahmed Shah Massoud, in Afghanistan. In addition, "Patricia", a CIA headquarters analyst, represents the views of the rank and file at CIA headquarters. The miniseries features dramatizations of various incidents summarized in the 9/11 Commission Report, and represented in high level discussions held within both the Clinton and Bush administrations. The final hour of the movie dramatizes the events of 9/11, including a re-creation of the second plane entering the World Trade Center, Tom Burnett's calls to his wife, and John Miller's reporting near the scene of the attacks. The film concludes with information about the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission, as well as the performance evaluation the Commission gave the government when it reconvened in 2005.

New York begins in the United States in 2008, with the arrest by the FBI of Omar Aijaz (Neil Nitin Mukesh) after guns were found in the trunk of a taxi cab he owned. Omar, a young Muslim man originally from Delhi, is then taken into custody and interrogated by FBI Agent Roshan (Irrfan Khan) (also a Muslim man originally from South Asia who has been living in the United States for twenty years). Omar then discovers that he was set up by the FBI in order to force him to spy on a former college friend, Samir Shaikh (John Abraham), whom he hasn't seen in seven years and who the FBI believes is a terrorist. In the process, Omar discovers that Sam has married Maya (Katrina Kaif) (a mutual friend whom Omar had a crush on in university) and finds out that Samir and Maya have a young son, Danyal (Aidan Wagner).
