The film was Freeman’s third from an original screenplay and shot during the summer of 2005 in New York City and Wilmington, North Carolina. It premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival, made its European debut at the 2006 Rome Film Festival and was released in North America on DVD/VOD by Breaking Glass Pictures.
Synopsis
Just Like the Son tells the story of Daniel Carter, a 20-year-old delinquent who unknowingly finds redemption by helping a six-year-old child, Boone, find a better life. After being sentenced to community service at a lower east-side grade school, Daniel strikes up an unlikely friendship with Boone, who shares his fear of becoming an orphan due to his mother's illness. When Daniel learns that Boone has an older sister living in Dallas, he begins to question the state system that would place a child in foster care rather than engaging in a search for a next-of-kin. Several days later, when Boone does not show up for school, Daniel decides to make it his business to track the boy down and right the societal crime he sees unfolding. After locating Boone in a temporary foster care facility in upstate New York, Daniel is turned down as an adoption candidate. And when he fails to convince his Father to help him gain custody, Daniel decides to rescue Boone from the orphanage and seek out this long-lost sister on his own. Employing all his street smarts, Daniel grabs Boone and they head off to Dallas.Acteurs

14-year-old Marcus Frederick (Brendan Sexton III) resides in Manhattan’s Lower East Side with his grandmother, Lucy (Lynn Cohen). Two young women, Ji-won and So-hyun, go on a road trip in a car borrowed from So-hyun's boyfriend; however, unknown to them the car is in fact stolen and contains a case of guns belonging to a corrupt police officer and gangster. The women discover the guns and initially believe them to be fakes, but after accidentally shooting out the car's back window and attracting the attention of local police, they are forced to continue their journey on foot. Ji-won and So-hyun find that life on the road can be dangerous, and resort to using guns to get themselves out of trouble. Along the way they are joined by Jin-ah, a sales clerk, and Young-mi, a dabang girl, and after several robberies the quartet end up being pursued by the police and the gangsters who want their guns back. However, their exploits turn them into media superstars with their own website and fanclub, the Adoring Four Revolutionary Idols Korean Association (A.F.R.I.K.A.), which leads to a series of copycat crimes perpetrated by their fans.

L'histoire tourne autour de trois jeunes gens : le sergent britannique Peter Gibbs (Dennis Price), le sergent américain Bob Johnson (interprété par un véritable sergent, du nom de John Sweet), et une land girl, Miss Alison Smith (Sheila Sim). Très tard un vendredi, le groupe arrive sur le quai de gare d'une petite ville fictive du Kent, du nom de Chillingbourne, près de Canterbury. Peter est stationné dans un camp militaire proche, Alison doit commencer un travail dans une ferme de la région, quant à Bob il est descendu du train par erreur, en entendant l'annonce « Canterbury prochain arrêt » et en pensant qu'il était arrivé à Canterbury. Au moment où tous les trois quittent la gare, Alison est attaquée par un mystérieux homme en uniforme qui, avant de prendre la fuite, lui répand de la colle dans les cheveux. Il apparait que l'incident s'est produit quelques fois déjà auparavant. Alison demande à Bob s'il peut rester à Chillingbourne durant le week-end pour l'aider à résoudre le mystère. Le lendemain, tandis qu'elle conduit un chariot dans les champs, Alison rencontre Peter qui fait escorter le chariot par trois chenillettes. Alison accepte de revoir Peter.
