I Am Not Madame Bovary (我不是潘金莲 en chinois, en pinyin : wǒ búshì Pān Jīnlián en, littéralement Je ne suis pas Pan Jinlian) est une comédie dramatique chinoise réalisée par Feng Xiaogang, sortie en 2016.

Le titre chinois Je ne suis pas Pan Jinlian fait référence à Pan Jinlian qui est l'un des trois personnages féminins principaux du roman Jin Ping Mei écrit sous la dynastie Ming.

Synopsis

En Chine, à cause de la bureaucratie, il est difficile de trouver un autre logement, Li Xuelian et son époux Qin Yuhe simulent un divorce pour obtenir un second appartement. Pourtant, son mari la quitte et se marie avec une autre femme. Li veut la justice et décide de rechercher des hommes susceptibles de tuer son ex-mari...

L'histoire se déroule principalement dans un train au départ du Tibet. Sha Gen (Wang Baoqiang), un garçon naïf d'un petit village travaillant comme ouvrier du bâtiment au Tibet, rentre chez lui pour se marier. Refusant de croire qu'il existe des voleurs dans le monde, Sha Gen insiste pour porter sur lui ses cinq années d'économies valant 60 000 ¥ (7 200 $) plutôt que d'utiliser un transfert d'argent. Il en parle même à voix haute dans une rue bondée et attire ainsi l'attention de Wang Bo (Andy Lau) et Wang Li (Rene Liu), un couple de voleurs expérimentés. Wang Bo fait alors le plan de voler cet argent comme dernier coup avant sa retraite, mais Wang Li, enceinte de leur enfant et émue par l'innocence de Sha Gen, décide de protéger le garçon.
